With spectacular views of the dales we are perfectly situated from walkers and cyclists and offer easy access to Durham, The lakes and North Yorkshire.  Both our rooms offer kingsize beds and en-suite facilities with there own entrance so you can come and go as you please. Guests enjoy the use of the cosy snug day or night and outside there is plenty of space to sit and enjoy those fabulous views and a secluded woodland area with beck and waterfalls for those moments of quite contemplation.

During your stay there is plenty to see and do. Eggleston is a traditional dales village situated on the edge of the North Pennines area of outstanding natural covering an area of 772 square miles of unspoilt heather moorland. In spring birds such as Oyster Catchers, Curlew and Buzzards can commonly be seen and occasionally Red Kites and Black Grouse are spotted. There are many public footpaths of varying lengths including the Teesway close at hand for those who enjoy hiking  

Within 10 minutes walking distance are Eggleston Hall Gardens with well stocked plant nursery, gardens and a restaurant for refreshments, a very pleasant way to spend a sunny afternoon. Further a field but within 10 - 15 miles there is High Force, Englands highest water fall and Hamsterly Forest with mountain bike higher and walks. The Weardale Steam Railway at Wolsingham  offers train rides from yesteryear and at Raby Castle there is a deer park and gardens .

We know the English weather means sometimes indoor attractions are the order of the day so why not visit the Bowes Museum, there are different exhibitions throughout the year. Barnard Castle has many antique shops to wonder round, cafes, gift shops and a market every Wednesday. Alternatively 40 minutes drive away is Durham City with it's cobbled streets and famous Cathedral.
